Discord’s Dying!

We’re looking for a new place to host the Comfy Cult now. Discord’s implementing face scans and ID verification for ages, using a company with very shady ties. I’ve been looking at alternatives. There are quite a few, but none are great. It does make me nostalgic for the days of just having one large group chat though. The teamspeak6 beta seems to lean into that. Servers are just for voice chats, and you can have a group chat for all the text. Signal now lets you use a username so you don’t have to offer up your phone number to everyone, but doesn’t have any way to do screenshare. Then there are the programs that are closer to discord clones but they all are early in their development too.

So not a clue where we’ll go yet, but my twitch will still be the same, and anyone can email me at neusse@comfycult.org if we seem to have moved and I don’t have a breadcrumb left in the locations you looked.
